Circular Economy Roadmap launched to promote sustainable development in Mauritius

The European Union (EU) Project for the Implementation of the Circular Economy Roadmap in Mauritius was officially launched.

This initiative, organised by Expertise France in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Solid Waste Management and Climate Change, aims to promote sustainable development and foster a circular economy approach across Mauritius, enhancing resource efficiency, reducing waste and supporting inclusive economic growth.

The launching ceremony also featured the signature of a financing agreement by the Minister of Environment, Solid Waste Management and Climate Change, Mr Rajesh Anand Bhagwan, and the Ambassador of the EU to Mauritius, Mr Oskar Benedikt. Additionally, a contribution agreement was signed by Ambassador Benedikt, and the Chief Executive Officer of Expertise France, Mr Jérémie Pellet, marking a key milestone in the project’s implementation.

The event was also attended by the Junior Minister, Mrs Joanna Marie Bérenger; the Head of Sustainability and Inclusive Growth, Business Mauritius, Mrs Amandine De Rosnay; alongside other distinguished guests.
