The Osterlog Valley Endemic Garden
2 % Forêts endémiques restantes de l’île Maurice
Dear friends,
We are delighted to invite you on Saturday 18 April to a nature walk at the Vallée d’Osterlog Endemic Garden, located in Le Val. This exceptional site forms part of the 2% of endemic forests remaining on Mauritius.
On the itinerary, we’ll be doing a circular walk to the Tortues Waterfall, a route of around 2 km, taking about 1½ hours to walk.
Our dear compatriot François and his wife will be joining us and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about the local flora and fauna.
For your convenience, please bring:
* Walking shoes
* At least 1.5 litres of water per person
* Mosquito repellent
We’re due to set off at 9.45 am from the meeting point. The walk will finish around 11.30 am – 12 noon, followed by a picnic where everyone brings their own food, scheduled to last until 1.30 pm.
A contribution of 300 rupees per person is requested. This includes admission to another walk after the picnic at La Vallée (lasting approximately 30 minutes), as well as complimentary refreshments, biscuits and savoury snacks.
Price: Rs 300 per person
