Discovering the Ferney Valley
, followed by lunch at Falaise Rouge
Dear Friends, come and discover one of Mauritius's biodiversity hotspots: the Vallée de Ferney!
This magnificent valley is a sanctuary for many species that were once critically endangered.
For example, the Mauritian kestrel, the national bird, has been saved from extinction.
In 1974, only four birds of this species were identified... Today, there are around 350, and this little falcon can be admired every day in the valley.
During this walk, we'll come across the kestrel, the pink pigeon and the Mauritian parakeet. It will also be an opportunity to learn how to recognise some of the island's rarest plants, such as ebony, bois clou and takamaka!

Bonne ballade,
François Baguette, your guide for the day.
